Adonis, a native of Brooklyn, New York son of working- class parents who both migrated to the U.S. in the early 1970’s. Adonis is a graduate from the Film/Video program at The School of Visual Arts.

His fourth short, Civic Mind won Best Dramatic Narrative at the New York Short Film Festival following numerous screenings including HBO’s New York Latino Film Festival, BlackStar Film Fest, and Pan African Film Festival. He's written, produced, directed, and edited all four of his shorts.

Team captain of his high school varsity baseball team, he also gained team building skills spending years as a board member for Brooklyn Young Filmmakers, a non-profit organization introducing teens and adults from underserved communities to the different jobs available in the film/tv industry. He also spends time volunteering with Keep Striving International, another non-profit currently building a school in his parents’ native country of The Dominican Republic.

Adonis is looking to launch a non-profit organization in 2023 to expand on his community efforts. Outside of this and filmmaking, Adonis loves baseball, live music, martial arts, collecting blu-rays/dvds, and spending time with his nephews.

In August of 2022 he was selected as one of ten directors for Minorities In Film's 2022 Branded Lab
